Over 200 Students Graduate From Morling College

Friday 11th April 2014

At the King’s School on Monday 7 April 2014, Morling College celebrated the graduation of over 200 students who have completed courses in Bible, Ministry, Theology, Counselling, Education and, our gap-year program, Plunge. During the ceremony, the Morling community also welcomed some 360 new full-time and part-time students who have joined us in 2014.

Our graduates have been trained for and equipped to work in many different areas including church-based ministries, chaplaincy, cross-cultural work, clinical counselling and the education sector.

The graduating men and women received their awards from Rev. Dr Mark Harding, Dean and Chief Executive Officer of the Australian College of Theology, and Rev. Kel Willis, Chairman of Morling College Board. The keynote speaker for the evening was Rev. Dr Brian Harris, Principal of Vose Seminary in Perth, WA. Dr Harris’s message was titled “Eyes to See, Ears to Hear…” and he spoke from Matthew 6:19–24, encouraging people to engage in life-long kingdom building.

Morling College was also delighted to have five doctoral recipients this year: Dr Bruce Domrow and Rev. Dr Marc Rader received a Doctor of Ministry, and Rev. Dr Kit Barker, Rev. Dr David Griffin, and Dr Margaret Wesley received a Doctor of Theology.

On the night we also recognised the academic achievement of Erik Lennestål who received the Felix Arnott Prize and Aidan Luke who received the Janet West Prize from the Australian College of Theology. These prizes are awarded to those with the highest grade point average achieved within the ACT’s Bachelor of Theology and Master of Divinity courses respectively.

Morling remains committed to equipping the whole believer to take the whole gospel to the whole world. We achieve this by training both men and women from certificate to doctoral levels in the areas of Bible, Ministry, Theology, Mission, Education, Chaplaincy and Counselling. Students have the opportunity to be equipped for a variety of vocations and can study full-time, residential, part-time and by distance.
