Counselling Theory and Practice

Description

In this unit students are provided with the opportunity to further develop a deepening understanding of the nature and course of the counselling encounter and to differentiate between content and process in counselling. They are introduced to more advanced counselling skills including the skills of challenge, assessment and case conceptualisation. Opportunity to develop the ability to utilise more advanced therapeutic techniques within an experiential context is provided. The unit is situated within a Christian worldview. Student's learning would therefore deeply enhance their own personal and spiritual formation. This unit focuses on the intentional development of relationships that are healing and restorative.
