Are you looking for an exciting calling that will help you fulfill God’s purpose for your life?
Have you considered becoming a teacher? Teaching is a completely unique job. It’s the power of connection to help students be the best they can be. Every day is a new journey, presenting opportunities to make a difference in the life of a student. Other than parents, teachers have arguably the biggest influence on a child’s life.
Teaching is a noble profession that combines good pay with great opportunities. With the looming shortage of teachers nationally, teaching also offers the prospect of strong and stable employment. Despite the rise in the number of students studying teaching, there is a predicted shortfall in the number of teachers required. This means qualified teachers will be in high demand and will have plenty of options.
To meet help meet this shortfall, particularly of Christian teachers for the faith-based schools’ sector, Morling College has partnered with Christian Heritage College (CHC) in Brisbane, to provide a solution. The Christian Teacher is a unique new program, accredited in all Australian statesthat provides teacher education from a Christian worldview.
This new initiative between two highly respected faith-based colleges, is designed to enrich the student experience academically, pastorally and spiritually. The Christian Teacher equips students for a career in teaching by providing a three-part program:
Initial teacher education degrees: Outstanding undergraduate and postgraduate initial teacher education degrees as a student of CHC
Mentoring, supervision and pastoral support: Mentoring, supervision and pastoral support from an experienced Christian teacher, assisting students’ professional formation through Morling partner schools. Students learn on the job all that is involved in the profession.
Cohort enrichment days: Opportunity to participate in regular cohort enrichment days run by the Morling Education faculty at the Sydney and Perth campuses. These will focus on Academic skills, Mental Health and Wellbeing and Spiritual Formation.
Students may choose to study a Bachelor of Education (Primary or Secondary)- four years full-time or eight years part-time; or if they are a career changer, a Master of Teaching (Primary or Secondary). This degree is two years full time. All study is completed online for flexibility and convenience.
