1. What degree did you study and when did you graduate?
I studied for a Master of Counselling from 2021 to 2023, with one year of full-time and two years of part-time study.
2.Where do you find yourself serving God now?
I want to continue serving and walking alongside people who suffer from mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, childhood trauma and relational conflicts.
3.What is something that you learnt that really ‘stuck out’?
Morling College is where you will find the meaning of " slow is fast " because slow is smooth, and smooth is fast. As a counselling student, I started to understand the importance of preparing myself and becoming a vessel of God in the counselling process.
4. What is your favourite memory from college?
My favourite memory is how our experienced lecturer/counsellor/supervisor shared their clinical and life experiences in the class. The richness cannot be expressed. It makes me feel that the experienced counsellor at Morling College influences life with life.
5.Why did you decide to study Counselling?
After working for almost ten years in different accounting, finance, marketing, and sales roles, I am a people person, which shows that I am interested in people's lives and stories. In addition to my five-year personal counselling experience, counselling provides a unique experience to explore and understand self. I decided on the counselling journey with Morling during the Covid-19 pandemic. This is the best decision that I have ever made.
6. Why did you choose Morling College over other colleges and universities?
After researching different university options, I realised training myself in a God-centred college is essential. Morling College sees the world through God’s eyes and submits to the authority of Christ.
7. And lastly, how has study informed your current practice?
Morling College is not only teaching you about knowledge but, most importantly, training you as a person whom God created you. Through years of studying, I am determined to become a counsellor with Christ-like qualities while dealing with clients.
