Bachelor of Theology/Bachelor of Ministry

Course description

The Bachelor of Theology/Bachelor of Ministry is a dual-degree, based on disciplines across two main fields: Bible and Languages and Christian Thought & History. Through elective units, students can follow study tracks in Bible and Languages, and in Christian Thought and History, as well as developing particular ministry skills in three areas of the field of Ministry and practice.

Entry Requirements
  • ATAR: Completion of Year 12 with an ATAR of 65 or above; OR
  • Previous Qualifications: Successful completion of a qualification at AQF Level 5 or above; OR
  • Demonstrate Academic Suitability for course: Test, Brief Essay, or Interview.
  • Language Qualifications for NESB: IELTS 6.5 overall with minimum of 6.0 in each subtest OR 10 years in Australia with English being the language primarily spoken both at home and work.

Career Options

The Bachelor of Theology/Bachelor of Ministry has been devised to train men and women for ministry in areas of pastoral practice. Morling is the accrediting college for Baptist ministers in NSW and ACT, and the Bachelor of Theology/Bachelor of Ministry is recommended for those who wish to become an accredited Baptist Pastor.

Credit Points

32 units (384 credit points) at AQF level 5 and above, with a maximum of 16 units (192 credit points) at level 5 and a minimum of 8 units (96 credit points) at level 7.

Course Duration

4 years minimum, up to 12 years maximum.
