Authentic Preaching in an Artificial Age - Preaching Conference 2024

As algorithms, social media influencers, and deepfakes continue to challenge our perceptions of what is real, preachers can respond to the cultural trust deficit through authentic, embodied, pastoral preaching of the Word of God. The yearning for the genuine; for that which can be trusted will only increase. There is an opportunity for preachers with the courage to navigate the shoals of our culture to bring their congregations to the deep waters of Scripture. How preachers navigate the opportunites and challenges of authenticity is the theme of this conference. Utilising the increasingly powerful tools that are at our disposal without compromising what makes us authentic as preachers in order that our congregations might encounter the good news through our preaching.

This conference is open for the public but also rolled into the unit PC204 for students . The Preaching Conference intensive unit goes from 24 - 28th June.

Our special guest is Alison Gerber. Originally from Australia she resides with her family in the US where she has been for the past decade, pastoring and, more recently, working towards completing a Ph.D in preaching at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
