Morling's Preaching Skills Days are designed for regular preachers who want to refresh and refine their skills in preaching God's word. The particular focus for this day will be about privileging God's word over our own as we explain and apply Scripture. It will encourage us to see ourselves as curatorsof the inspired text, and to align the function of our sermon with the function of the biblical text.

About the Speaker

Tim MacBride is the Principal of Morling College, where he lectures in Homiletics and New Testament. He is the author of two books on preaching, Catching the Wave: Preaching the NT as Rhetoric (IVP, 2016) and To Aliens and Exiles: Preaching the NT as Minority-Group Rhetoric in a Post-Christendom World (Cascade, 2020). Tim previously served for 12 years as a pastor at Narwee Baptist Church, in the southern suburbs of Sydney.
