Students in this unit will further develop their skills and capacity to integrate professional supervision theory and practice within the context of their Christian faith. The unit is normally presented through 2 x 2-day semi-intensives and includes an online component. This unit is designed to provide students with advanced-level knowledge and skill necessary for practice as a professional supervisor in their chosen context. Within the framework of a Christian Worldview, students will deepen their knowledge and understanding of the various theories and models of supervision practice and further develop skills in professional supervision. Students will explore legal, ethical, and cultural issues in supervision and develop excellence in professional practice. The difference between individual and group supervision and the importance of supervision-of-supervision practice will be explored.
Students are provided with extended opportunity to develop and practice advanced supervision skills within an experiential context. Integrated learning activities are designed to promote the development of supervision skills and creative supervisory practices. This unit facilitates the ongoing growth and development of the student in personal, interpersonal, and professional domains.
Successful completion of this unit is a key element in preparing students for accreditation as a professional supervisor.
