ThC - World Religions (WR)

Australia is home to one of the world’s most multicultural societies, where new waves of migration continue to reshape the religious landscape. From the rapid growth of the Yazidi community to the increasing prominence of Hinduism, driven by migration from India, Australia’s diversity presents both challenges and opportunities for Christian witness.

This unit provides an in-depth exploration of major world religions, including their core beliefs, practices, and cultural contexts. It also examines the rising "no religion" demographic, projected to become Australia’s largest census category in the near future.

Through lectures, case studies, and insights from experienced practitioners and people of other religious backgrounds, you will develop a deeper understanding of these faith traditions. This unit equips you with practical frameworks and tools to engage thoughtfully and respectfully, while effectively sharing the gospel in our pluralistic society.
